Properties for Sale in Pelekas

In central Corfu, you’re bang in the middle of all of the action, with easy access to beaches, mountains and historical attractions across the entire length and breadth of this beautiful island.

This is the most populous region in Corfu and popular resorts include Kommeno, which is close to the awesome Aqualand waterpark and the Port of Corfu, Benitses, with its pretty beach and chic marina, and Dassia, which is a hotspot for elegant and exclusive villas and apartments.

Pelekas is another picturesque resort here with much to recommend it  ̶  only 25km from capital Kerkyra, this serene spot is the perfect place to chill out and unwind all the way.

The beautiful terracotta tiled abodes of Pelekas cascade down the lush hillsides until they spill out around the sultry sands in touching distance from the sea  ̶  if you appreciate doing things your own way, this has been a magnet for independent travellers for generations.

There are plenty of traditional tavernas and restaurants here, a wide choice of watersports, and tons of outstanding olive groves which you can wander through to cool off in the heat of the midday sun.

There are several reasons why Pelekas could be pretty much perfect for your property plans  ̶  read on for more useful information.

Things to do in Pelekas

If you’re fortunate enough to be in Pelekas in August, you’ve hit town during festival season, when festivities include traditional music, dancing and tons of gorgeous grilled souvlaki.

But for something a little different, take a hike up to the precipitous headland that divided Pelekas from neighbouring Glyfada Beach and you might just see cliff jumpers hurling themselves off the 40 foot high rocks into the waves below  ̶  please don’t try this for yourself though!

Pelekas beach also boats its own natural beauty spa  ̶  you’ll find a cove packed with natural clay mud just south of the main beach and it’s said to have restorative and detoxifying properties. It’s a local custom to lather your entire body in this cooling clay and wander around for a while before taking a swim to wash it all off, so throw caution to the wind and join in.

Last but not least, if you want to watch a wonderful sunset, climb up the small hill known as the Kaiser’s Throne and sip a cold beer as you watch the sun sink slowly over the horizon as velvety dusk envelops the entire landscape.

Which types of properties can you purchase in Pelekas?

A variety of properties are often available to buy in Pelekas. For instance, if you’re looking for a business opportunity you might be able to snap up an apartment complex which allows you to carve a slice of the lucrative local tourist trade, a traditional detached house can provide the privacy that you crave in a residential property, or purchasing a parcel of land in a picturesque spot allows you to build your forever home.
